About Mrs. Bowden
I love teaching and I am thrilled to have your child in my ESL classroom this year!
I am currently ESL teacher leader at Humboldt Park, and my 14th year as a teacher. I taught for four years in the School District of South Milwaukee while teaching part-time and staying home with my children. Prior to teaching in South Milwaukee, I taught in Milwaukee Public Schools for 6 years as an ESL teacher at Forest Home Elementary and as a bilingual K4 teacher at ALBA Elementary School. I graduated from University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee in 2009, and in 2014 I received a Masters in Early Childhood Education from Alverno College. I also have experience teaching kindergarten at a bilingual private arts school in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
When I am not busy teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have a wonderful husband of 9 years and two children, Natalia, who is six years old, and Leo, who is four years old. We have two rescue dogs, Bella and Blueberry who keep us on our toes. In addition to spending time with family, I enjoy reading, cooking, taking long bike rides and walks, and the occasional trip to Starbucks. During the summer months (which are much too short!) we love traveling and camping.
Most of all, I am looking forward to working with your child and family this school year! I hope to make your child’s school year an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions!
