Philosophy of EducationMy philosophy of education includes the importance of educating the whole child; a holistic approach to learning. I believe in fostering academic, social, emotional, and physical growth, while encouraging intrinsic motivation for children to learn. My classroom model stems from the Theory of Sociolinguistics, where students apply critical thinking, problem solving skills and acquire literacy and language skills through play, conversation and social interaction with others.
I implement an approach to learning that is developmentally appropriate for children through scaffolding instruction, the use of visuals, realia, and incorporating practical experiences within the classroom environment. I also administer assessment procedures that are for learning while reflecting on my practice, allowing each child to grow at his or her individual pace. It is my goal for all children in my classroom to enjoy learning. I look forward to working with your child this school year! |
